At Daventry 3D Printing, we specialise in producing robust, functional components that support manufacturing, assembly, and inspection operations. The examples shown here demonstrate how 3D printing can be applied to solve real world production challenges by helping shops free up spindle time and reduce lead times while enabling design flexibility, and lowering tooling costs compared to traditional methods.
Parts are produced using both FDM, SLA and MSLA processes, with materials selected to suit each application from high strength carbon-fibre reinforced polymers for load-bearing fixtures to specialist polymers for heat and chemical resistant components.
Each project represents a practical implementation of additive manufacturing in an industrial context, delivering reliable performance on the shop floor.

01
Machining Jaw fixture
This fixture replaces the fixed vice jaw and enables repeatable holding of a complex shaped component without the risk of crushing or deformation. Made from a tough resin, this fixture has the best mix of durability and rigidity to ensure the part is held securely but remains undamaged.
We added threaded inserts to enhance usability and ensure the clamp bolted down completely. The form of the part has been copied for location on the side and form fitting geometry cradles the part and ensures correct alignment and total repeatability.
Using resin to print for fixtures allows us freedom to print complex geometries and maintain isotropic strength throughout.

02
Inspection Fixture
This Inspection Fixture was produced in PLA due to the rigidity of the material and the low mechanical demand, allowing it to produced much faster and cheaper than a machined fixture.

2 into 1 Pipe Cutting Jig
This is an example of a cutting Jig we have designed and sell in our online store. 3D printed in PETG, this jig is a 1.5 Inch 20 degree 2 into 1 Exhaust Collector Cutting Jig and this example has extension plates to make 2 X D front length. With 3D printing, we can adapt and customise many features without needing to retool or alter a mould, keeping costs low.
